mass choir music ministry
mass choir music ministry
"God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of the trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise." Psalm 47:5-7
The Music Department plays a part in every aspect of ministry, and is a very important part the growth of the church. The choir is a ministry that is set up to minister through songs to the people and to themselves. Songs and music is important because it helps to set the tone for the service. In biblical days, music was played before to usher in the spirit and to sound the alarm to the enemies that God’s Army was coming. Stay tuned for announcements of when rehearsals will resume (after COVID).

Acts 6:4 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. 1 Timothy 3:8-10 says, “Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
Deacons are a very important and integral part of any church. Unfortunately, in many churches deacons are looked to as the policy and law makers. They are looked at as the judicators of church law, but from the times of Jesus, it was not so. Deacons were sought out by the Disciples of Christ as in the scripture above to give relief to the ministers of Christ to “give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Deacons are to look out for the welfare of the church and be able to conduct the business of the church in the absence of the Pastor and the other ministers. They are also slotted for teaching in the absence of the Pastor and his ministerial staff. The deacons do not meet formally. Their meeting days are anytime the church doors are open.

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalm 84:10
The usher board is a ministry that covers a wide range of services from the introduction to the final salutation. Ministry covers every facet of what Jerusalem is all about. When visitors or members come into the church, ushers are people who let them know they are at home and that a worship experience is about to take place. The ushers of New Jerusalem are concerned with the fine details of the worship experience, even down to the Kleenex. The ushers meet the second Sunday of every month immediately following the morning worship and also provide training each month (date to be announced).

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding”.
Jeremiah 3:15
The ministry of supporting the Pastor represents our ability to follow leadership. It also shows the world the care that the Man of God should receive. The support of the pastor and first lady is critical to the success of New Jerusalem. In Philippians 4:19, it talks about what God will do if we take care of his shepherds. Your pastor needs you! His effectiveness is in large part determined by how people in his congregation respond to his leadership. The committee meets on the third Sunday immediately following Sunday Service.

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another”. John 13:34-35
The hospitality committee has a ministry of visiting the sick and shut in and greeting our members and visitors when they come into the church. They look after the members who are unable to make it to service due to their illness or incapacitation. They also provide outreach to others in hospitals and nursing homes that are not members of NJMBC. The hospitality is headed up Mother Adams.

The responsibility of the kitchen committee members are to make sure the kitchen is always in a usable state so if ever the kitchen is needed, and it is stocked with the everyday necessities of the church. They provide the resources that would be needed when the church is having a function that involves feeding the members i.e. Paper plates, cups, napkins, and utensils. These items are purchased by the church or are donated by church members.
If there are any ministries that you would like to see here at NJC-Ferguson, please forward all request to 1st Lady Ronica Adams.
